The relaxation exercise was interesting. Due to the time of night I was starting to relax. The background music was nice, the guide had a soothing voice, and I was almost there until he started to describe what the blood functions my body was taking. That took me right out of relaxation. When I relax I do not want to think about my body functions.
Hi Angie. I can understand why bodily functions would take you right out of relaxation. When I was taking part in the exercise I painted a picture in my mind of my muscles being as dry as a sponge. As the blood flowed over them they became saturated and heavy. In turn, my arms actually felt heavy and warm. I hope that you are able to find some relaxation exercises that are beneficial to you in this term. Maybe you can "train" your mind to paint a different type of picture when envisioning what is being said instead of the literal sense of it.
